Pierre-Yves Gunter and Anya Marinkovich contributed the chapter “Expedited Arbitration as an Alternative to Dispute Boards for International Construction Projects: Analyzing the Dispute Resolution Methods Best Suited for Real-Time Conflict Prevention and Resolution” to Hospitality and Construction Disputes Post-Covid (eds: Shaheeza Lalani, Steven Shapiro, and Derek Heath), published in November 2023 by Brill/Nijhoff. The book is the sixth volume in the series on International and Comparative Business Law and Public Policy put together by the University of Lausanne. A book launch will take place on 7 February 2024 at 6:30pm at the Cosmos Club in Washington D.C.

Pierre-Yves Gunter is co-heading the Working Group on “Case Management” of the Association for Innovative Practices in Arbitration (AIPA) and will present the results of the Working Group during the Paris Arbitration Week 2024.

Pierre-Yves Gunter published a note in the December 2023 edition of the Newsletter of the Lagos Court of Arbitration on “A need for Improvement and Innovative Practices in International Arbitration”.

13 September 2023, Pierre-Yves Gunter made a presentation in Paris at a conference organised by “Comité Français de l’Arbitrage” (French Arbitration Committee) on the status under Swiss law of the extension of the arbitration clause to non-signatories and covered the case law of the last five years; a publication will follow in 2024 in Revue de l’Arbitrage.

13 September 2023, Anya Marinkovich gave a presentation on the topic of “Lex Constructionis: Changes and Variations” for the German Arbitration Institute’s Construction Group, at the offices of RAUE law firm in Berlin. Her presentation addressed the state and development of generally accepted international legal principles in the context of change mechanisms in international construction contracts.

7 September 2023, Anya Marinkovich participated in the ArbitralWomen event “Arbitration and Parenthood” held in Zurich. The no-holds-barred and highly interactive panel explored the shared experiences of arbitration practitioners juggling the demand of work and home life, while panelists contributed with their tips and tricks for finding balance.

Summer 2023, Pierre-Yves Gunter's mandate as Board Member of the Swiss Arbitration Center was renewed.

18 July 2023, Anya Marinkovich moderated an event for the Society of Construction Law North America’s annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts. The session covered the topic of “Out-of-the-Box ADR Procedures for the Prevention and Resolution of Construction Disputes”.

14 June 2023, Gunter Arbitration co-organised with the Global Gas Center a conference in Geneva during which Pierre-Yves Gunter made a presentation on the lessons learned over the last 18 months with respect to gas arbitration disputes.

On 9 June 2023, Anya Marinkovich spoke alongside Me Stefano Fornara on the topic of the new Supplemental Swiss Rules for Corporate Law Disputes for the ASA Below 40 Spring Event in Geneva.

20 May 2023, Anya Marinkovich participated as a speaker at the Centre for International Legal Studies Mediation Symposium at the beautiful Leopoldskron Palace in Salzburg. Alongside Me Brahim Mouelhi, she debated the usefulness of the Singapore Convention on Mediation as a tool to promote mediation as an effective dispute resolution mechanism for international commercial disputes.

January 2023, Anya Marinkovich was re-appointed for a second three-year term on the Board of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution’s Young & International group. During the past term, she co-organized a series of webinars on international construction arbitration for young practitioners, as well as the Swiss Chalet Debate! conference series. She looks forward to continuing these programs and contributing to ICDR Y&I’s global outreach over the next three years.
